It takes a state to ensure that our students are well educated, not only for the current workforce, but for jobs that we can only imagine in the future.
Business, industry, and community must take a strong partnership role in ensuring that education is strategically planned, based on proven practices, supported with talented teachers, and opportunities provided for students to have a vision and motivation to achieve their futures.
You have a critical role to play. Here are just some of the ways you can help:
Become a School Partner/ STEM Ambassador
- Share your STEM-related career or other career with students in the classroom.
- Serve as a judge for competitions.
- Lend your expertise by working with students on a STEM project.
- Become an expert mentor to educators and/or students
- Offer internships for students and teachers at your place of business.
- Offer industry tours to students, teachers, and counselors.
Support STEM Education Statewide
- Support outreach programs with donations, either funding or in kind.
- Advocate with district, community, and state leaders about the importance of supporting AND SUSTAINING STEM education as well as a balanced curriculum for ALL students. (And yes, that includes the arts as well!)
